His major research focuses on are selection and screening of novel natural therapeutic against probable drug targets of SARS-CoV-2 and several multidrug-resistant organisms isolated from various sources by structure-based virtual screening approaches. He has modeled and validated novel drug targets for several pathogenic bacteria and viruses by computational biology approaches. He has screened novel chromophoric and fluorophoric therapeutic metabolites from symbiotic bacteria associated with marine sponges towards drug-resistant bacteria. He has identified several novel thermophilic bacterial consortia screened from extreme environments that can degrade low- and high-density polyethylene and polypropylene.
